Pastor Rich Theilen grew up in the Twin Cities and has spent most of his life and ministry in and around Minnesota. As a Covenant pastor, he has served churches in both permanent and interim roles in Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Dakota, and British Columbia, Canada. He has a BA in Economics from St. Olaf College, a Master of Divinity from Bethel Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry from Sioux Falls Seminary. He’s also a graduate of Minnehaha Academy. Before entering ministry, Rich worked in the Oil and Chemical packaging industry in St. Paul. Over the years, Rich has held a variety of other community and professional leadership roles, and has taught Systematic Theology at Solid Rock School of Discipleship. His wife Cheryl is a native of Wooster, Ohio, a graduate of North Park University, and serves as director of administration for the Northwest Conference. Their daughter Kristin is also a North Park alumna and works at Seven Hills Preparatory Academy, a classical charter school in the Twin Cities. In addition to ministry activities, Rich enjoys managing several family-owned farms in Southwest Minnesota, doing light construction projects, playing board games, watching World War II movies, and hanging out with their dog, Katie. As a family, they have enjoyed extensive travel, both in the U.S. and abroad.
