Lakeview Youth

Welcome to Lakeview Youth where we desire to commission life-long disciples with a deeply formed life and faith rooted in Jesus.

Wednesdays | 7:00 - 8:30pm | Grades 6-12

Our mid-week gatherings for middle and high school youth are primarily centered on creating opportunities and experiences for teenagers to know the love of Jesus and find belonging and purpose within His people. Our team of diverse and committed adults are actively engaged disciple-makers who are excited to meet each teenager where they are at in their own journey and help them move closer to Jesus. Parents and teenagers will experience a community committed to a Jesus-like culture of hospitality, generosity, and inclusivity towards all people from all backgrounds.

WHAT TO EXPECT
On a Wednesday you can expect the doors of the church building to be open at 6:30pm for informal hang out and connection time upstairs in our game room as well as the multipurpose room. One or two of our adult team members will always be standing at the front doors to welcome you as you arrive. From 7:00-8:00 all middle & high schoolers are together for Large Group which includes a game or activity, worship led by our youth band, and teaching. Our games and activities prioritize fun shared experiences that encourage connection and community. Worship is led by middle and high school youth and the teaching is biblically rooted and contextually relevant for teenagers in our world today. From 8:00-8:30 we finish our night in small groups where everyone is able to experience safe and welcoming spaces for big questions, honest conversations, and deep friendships.

Middle School Sundays | 10:30 - 11:30am | Grades 6-8

Middle School youth gather during our 10:30am worship service in our upstairs multipurpose room for games, teaching, and discussion around biblical principles, themes, and topics. Our Adult Team Members lead the morning in ways that allow the time to be just as accessible for teenagers who are at church for the very first time as well as those who have gone to church their whole life.

What to Expect
Most often middle schoolers start to gather and play games between 10:00-10:15am while the class officially starts at 10:30am. Our adult team members start with a large group game or activity then lead a 15-20 minute teaching. Afterwards the large group splits in to smaller groups for deeper bible study, a time to ask questions, check-in with each other, and pray for each other. When the class is over middle school youth are welcome to leave to go find their family or stick around for a bit to play games in the multipurpose room or game room.

Adult Team Members

Adult Team Members are the committed adults who love Jesus and desire to be a consistent, compassionate, and trustworthy voice in the lives of teenagers in our community. They are not merely chaperones who passively watch from a distance but are active disciple-makers who work to earn the right to be heard by teenagers by developing friendships over time. Adult Team Members lead or co-lead small groups as well as  participate, facilitate, and/or leading aspects of the large large group experience on Wednesdays and Sundays. Through regular communications, meetings, and trainings our team ensures each youth experience safe, Christ-centered community and discipleship! All our Adult Team Members submit to background checks and complete child safety training on a regular basis.
