Genesis - The Fall

Series: Genesis

October 01, 2023 | Evan Kolding
Passage: Genesis 3:1-24

We all have been enjoying the signs of fall as the trees are changing color and the days have been growing colder. The wonderful thing about these seasonal markers is that they help us anticipate and prepare for what is coming. The markers of fall are not what causes the the changes. The markers are different from the cause. With many of the children in our community we see more runny noses, coughs, and sneezes, symptoms of cold and flu season. I know that my runny nose is not what caused my cold but rather is a symptom of a cold that has already settled in my body. There is a difference between the symptom and the sickness.

We are going to take an honest look at both the markers and the cause or symptoms and sickness of sin. My prayer is that as we thoughtfully and honestly read through Genesis 3, the Holy Spirit will help us better understand and identify the cause and sickness of sin in our life and in our world, so we can come (again and again) to the one who is our Healer and Redeemer.
